ONN – 2010 Miss USA Rima Fakih Did Miley Cyrus Pole Dancing Before Miley, But No One Cared

The LA Times “Ministry Of Gossip” wrote that “newly crowned Miss USA 2010 Rima Fakih was discovered to have put her back to a pole in 2007, when she was 21 years old, and slid down it in front of a crowd.” The discovery of the pictures in 2010 didn’t cause much of a controversy as much as it sent a message to the World that a muslim woman could show her stuff on a stripper pole. The LA Times wrote “get a grip” at the time.

Cafe Mom wrote “This time, the video and pictures came from a women-only Stripper 101 contest, which Fakih participated in (and won) for radio program Mojo in the Morning. While it’s a sexy, suggestive dance for sure, she doesn’t remove any clothes. In fact, it’s much less racy than the pageant’s official photographs. Her prizes consisted of “jewelry, gift cards, adult toys, and a stripper pole for home use. So, who cares? I mean, we’ve seen videos of everyone from Miley Cyrus to Martha Stewart taking to a stripper’s pole. There’s even talk that pole dancing could become an Olympic sport.”

It would be interesting to learn what the reaction would be if Rima Fakih were the 2020 Miss USA, and those photos surfaced? One would hope the social media outcome would reflect how Cafe Mom and the LA Times reacted in 2010. That written, there are those who would unfairly shame Rima Fakih.

Stay tuned.

Note from Zennie62Media and Oakland News Now: this video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-created and owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
