Allegiant Las Vegas Stadium Construction Update: Progress Even With Pandemic Shelter-In-Place

ONN – Allegiant Las Vegas Stadium Construction Update: Progress Even With Pandemic Shelter-In-Place

In this Allegiant Stadium Construction Update, we find that the stadium has reached a number of milestones. Most notably, the ETFE cable-net roof structure is moving toward looking like the artist drawings of it, with mostly the installation of the ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) panels to be done.

As noted, the “M” in Allegiant Stadium, once out of place, is now in position with the other letters of the Las Vegas-based airline sponsor.

And small details, like the stadium curtain wall “pipping”, are all-but-complete. But the biggest questions of all have yet to be completely answered.

First, all of the work described is being done during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and there is a Nevada State “Shelter-In-Place” law. As a result of those twin problems, thousands of Las Vegas Strip workers have been laid off. So many, that, to an increasing number of people, keeping workers building what will be an entertainment palace for the rich seems insensitive.

On the other hand, it’s important to have work for Las Vegas workers and for good pay. The problem is, the way the rest of the Las Vegas economy is going, the stadium may wind up being a temporary home for the homeless. No, there’s not any talk of that right now, but let’s see how this plays out over the next month.

Stay tuned.

Note from Zennie62Media and Oakland News Now: this video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-created and owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
