Despite many returning to no homes, they were simply glad to be reunited with members of their family who they were separated from – and had no idea if they were alive or not – amid Israel’s military bombardment of the Gaza Strip. On her journey back to Gaza City, one homebound woman said, “Thank God, it’s like I was born again and we were victorious again.” The Netzarim Corridor was initially set to open on Saturday, however it was delayed for two days after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) pointed the finger at Hamas for not meeting terms of the truce brokered by Qatar, Egypt, and the U.S. Israel said the militant group switched the order of specific hostages it agreed to exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
