Carr To Ruggs 46 Yards TD Pass, 5 Sec Left. Raiders 31 NY Jets 28, Las Vegas Gets Oakland Style Win
ONN – Carr To Ruggs 46 Yards TD Pass, 5 Sec Left. Raiders 31 NY Jets 28, Las Vegas Gets Oakland Style Win – vlog by Zennie62 YouTube
Derek Carr had just missed a wide-open Nelson Aquilar as he ran toward the end zone, and past the New York Jets secondary. We thought Carr just missed the church of Raider legends like Darryl Lamonica, the incomparable Kenny Stabler and Rich Gannon.
But, on the very next play, Derek Carr and Alabama Rookie Wide Receiver Henry Ruggs teamed for the pass that will come to define this season. Ruggs was the wide-out, and simply ran a shake-go route to the end zone. Carr, determined to make up for the miss, and for an interception caused by Ruggs earlier, threw it with the proper touch, Ruggs caught it. TOUCHDOWN Raiders, with just five second left.
Later, during the press conference, Raiders Defensive End Clelin Ferrell said he could not believe it. Notably, he said that “we knew what they were gonna run; we just had to stop it.”
About the catch, Henry Ruggs said “It was just. We were down to the wire. We knew we needed a play. Once I looked back. Felt like the ball was there forever. I just waited for it to come down – and made the play. Ruggs said he tried to “make it seem like an inside route” before breaking outside and heading to the end zone.
Derek Carr on the win: “Talk about an emotional roller coaster. Talk about how angry I was after the Falcons game. Talk about the emotion I felt after seeing my little girl for the first time. I was just playing for one more chance. They all-out-blitz us. I couldn’t believe it. To win a game like that. A lot of emotions. A big time roller coaster.”
On Darren Waller’s 200-yard-game: “I love playing with him. He’s a special talent. He’s someone I’ll tell my kids about when I finish playing.”
The Raiders escaped New York with, as I predicted, a close win. But what I thought would happen was not that close.
Raiders 31 NY Jets 28.
And the New York Jets remain winless.
Stay tuned.
Note from Zennie62Media’s Zennie62 YouTube and Oakland News Now Today Blog SF Bay Area: this video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-created and owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
