Cedric Benson RIP. I went to sleep at 7:38 am, after a night of working and talking with family, but also thinking that something was wrong, and just woke up to this news.
Cedric Benson was not only the famed Chicago Bears Running Back and Texas Alum, but the first client of my friend Sports Agent Scott Parker, when he went out on his own. Previously, Scott worked for Leigh Steinberg as his right hand for years, and was on my Super Bowl Oakland Committee.
But this shows that you should appreciate every moment of life and thank God for being alive. This is not promised to us at all. I don’t know what happened to Cedric Benson for him to die at 36 years old. Only this is a tragedy.
My sympathies to his family, to Scott and to The Chicago Bears and Texas.
Update: Benson was said to have died in a car crash.
