Christmas In Oakland 2019 On YouTube, Twitter, Instagram Social Media

Oakland From Instagram – Merry Christmas to all of you. Social Media provides a unique way to see how Oaklanders or those who were in Oakland, spent Christmas in our city. That means mining YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for interesting posts. Or posts this blogger thinks are notable.

This blog post must start with a cool 48 minute YouTube video posted by SF Bay Area Bicycle and called “Bike Oakland: West Oakland loop”. While the video was posted on Christmas Day, it was actually made on December 9th, 2019. Still, even though it wasn’t done on Christmas, it’s something that pops up in the search for Oakland YouTube videos uploaded on Christmas Day 2019.

What “Bike Oakland: West Oakland Loop” is, is a tour of a route on a bike that has front facing and rear facing cameras. It’s a cool “point-of-view” video to watch if you want to see what Oakland looks like from a bike riders perspective. This is what SF Bay Area Bicycle wrote:

2019-12-09: 10.5 mile, 160 ft elevation, early afternoon ride from downtown Oakland, through Jack London Square, West Oakland, and along the water out to East Oakland, taking Broadway, 3rd St, Mandela Parkway, 12th St, Kirkham St, 14th St, Adeline St, 18th St into 17th St, MLK Jr Way, 2nd St, Webster St, Embarcadero West, Embarcadero, E 7th St, Fruitvale Ave, Foothill Blvd, and 55th Ave.

Also, on Christmas Day, an Oakland YouTuber who goes by the channel name Joe Hale uploaded this video called “Lake temescal fish planting and fishing for trout December 2019”.

Meanwhile on Instagram for the Oakland hashtag, we find the Oakland Convention Center posting this greeting:

Meanwhile, this group of friends in Oakland held a Christmas gathering that looked like it was fun…

And here’s another Oaklander celebrating “Christmas vibes with my family!”

On Twitter, Truve, the Downtown Oakland fitness club, is working to get you in to, well, work off the extra pounds from all of that food you consumed! Check out this tweet:

And long-time Oakland Tribune (as I prefer to remember) photographer Jane Tyska posted a tweet wishing everyone Merry Christmas, and calling for the return of her stolen 1990 Red Mazda:

And lastly, Chabot Space and Science Center is wishing everyone Happy Holidays!
