Attachment A to this report provides information on crime, crime trends, crime reduction and crime intervention activities in Oakland for the period of (1st quarter of calendar year 2021).BACKGROUND AND LEGISLATIVE HISTORY
In 2013 the Public Safety Committee requested a quarterly report from OPD on crime trends and crime reduction activities in the City of Oakland. This report is provided four times a year and updated to include the preceding three-month period (January through March; April through June; July through September; and October through December).ANALYSIS AND POLICY ALTERNATIVES
This informational report is presented to the City Council and the Oakland community to provide an update on crime and crime reduction activities in Oakland. The attached presentation (Attachment A) contains information as follows:Crime statistics for each of OPD’s five Police Areas (1-5) including trends and reduction activities; and
Ceasefire Violence Reduction Strategy UpdatePUBLIC OUTREACH / INTEREST
No outreach was deemed necessary for this report beyond the standard City Council agenda
