Blackbird House was filled with more than 500 attendees, including influencers and celebrity guests Don Cheadle, Vanessa A. Williams, Roland Martin, and Dawn-Lyen Gardner – all eager to experience this new paradigm in coworking.

“If a physical space could be an oasis for the creative soul, then Blackbird House would be it. Head nod to this first global coworking community smartly centering women of color and our allies,” noted activist and actor, Dawn-Lyen Gardner (“Queen Sugar”, OWN Network).

Founder, Bridgid Coulter, an actress and accomplished interior designer, designed Blackbird House to foster a collective of women of color and their allies, with similar values rooted in diversity and inclusion. Coulter mentioned in her opening remarks to guests, “My idea was to build a collective from the community up, to reflect the warmth and energy of the amazing entrepreneurs, creatives, mentors, strivers, community advocates, social justice warriors, environmental champions and healers that we aim to serve. With Blackbird House, we’re creating a membership network of physical workspaces where we can be aligned in work, wellness and community”.
