CTA Posts CES 2022 Las Vegas Advisory In Wake Of Discovery Of Omicron Variant Of COVID-19
After the news of the discovery of the Omicron Variant in Nevada, the Consumer Technology Association posted an advisory online informing CES 2022 attendees that “We are actively tracking the emerging science around the new Omicron variant. We will monitor and adjust our plans and health protocols as necessary.” And a link to this online page on CES 2022 practices to stop the spread of the virus.
The Southern Nevada Heath District (SNHD) has confirmed the first case of COVID-19 caused by the omicron variant in the state.
According to the SNHD it was a fully vaccinated female in her mid-20s who had not received a booster. The woman is from Clark County.
The SNHD did not indicate where the woman lives, or where she might have contracted the virus.
“We knew that it was only a matter of time that we would identify the omicron variant in Southern Nevada,” said Dr. Fermin Leguen, District Health Officer for the Southern Nevada Health District. “People can protect themselves from all variants of the COVID-19 virus by getting fully vaccinated and getting a booster when they are eligible, wearing a mask in public indoor settings, regardless of their vaccination status, and staying home and getting tested if they are sick.”
It would help if we knew where she contracted the virus variant.
This tweet indicate the situation could get worst and soon:
Many thanks @donlemon for hosting me tonight @DonLemonTonight I expressed some concerns about how quickly omicron is going up, and why our health system is a potential weak link if a significant percentage of our healthcare workforce gets sick in the coming weeks…here’s how…

But even with the looming problem, CES drew 15,000 signups. Still, the show normally draws almost 200,000 people.

UNLV Scientists Detected Omicron Variant In Southern Nevada Waste Water
UNLV scientists detected #Omicron in Southern Nevada waste water a week before the first case was confirmed, 13 Action News’ reported. It was also found in Orange County, Florida waste water according to WFTV.
Hopefully this will not lead to the cancellation of CES 2022 Las Vegas. That would be a giant blow to Las Vegas and to America.
Prayers and fingers crossed.
Stay tuned.

Note from Zennie62Media’s Zennie62 YouTube and Oakland News Now Today Blog SF Bay Area: this video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-created and owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
