ONN – David Rosa Zennie62 YouTube Fan Also UC Berkeley City Planning Alum, Talks Community Vision 2020
On Wednesday November 20th, of last week, I paid a visit to the Department of City and Regional Planning at UC Berkeley, where I earned my Masters of City Planning Degree in 1987, just because I was in town, and finished lunch with my long-time friend, Bill, at the UC Berkeley Faculty Club.
Anyway, as I was reading the news bulletins and taking in the setting at the 2nd floor of Wurster Hall, I met a man who, as it turned out, watches the Zennie62 YouTube Channel, and also was a graduate of what we call “DCRP” (Number one planning school in the World.)
His name is David Rosa, and hails from the Class of 1994. He’s currently involved in the development of something called “Community Vision 2020” and an event is planning for next year. He said there was no website as of this report.
From my search, I found something referencing this: “Initiate a Community “Vision 2020” Process: Initiate a “visioning” process to gather data, engage the public, and begin to plan our transition toward a long-term economic, social, and environmental structure that is sustainable in a rapidly-changing world; ultimately, build toward an update of our general plan, particularly the Land Use and Circulation Elements.”
And another search on Google turned up this:
Berkeley’s 2020 Vision: Equity in Education (2020 Vision) is a citywide initiative that
strives to eliminate racial disparities in achievement in Berkeley’s public schools. This
initiative advances the City of Berkeley’s Strategic Plan goal to “champion and
demonstrate social and racial equity.”
2020 Vision was formally established in 2008, after decades of community struggle to
address racial inequities in its public education system, starting with the integration of
Berkeley public schools in 1968.
So, what is to be reported on, next, is what specifically is to happen at UC Berkeley’s Wurster Hall in 2020, and concerning Community Vision 2020.
Stay tuned.
Note from Oakland News Now Technical: this video-blog post shows the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
