Zsa Zsa Gabor was busy. The legendary Hollywood actress and part of the famous Gabor sisters (her sister Eva Gabor starred on one of my favorite shows as a kid Green Acres), passed away at 99 years of age December of 2016. Known for her Hollywood socialite lifestyle, Zsa Zsa Gabor was Paris Hilton before social media. She was also well-known by the FBI – the Federal Bureal of Investigation. In fact, the FBI has a just-publically-released file on her, which my friend, famed Beverly Hills Publicist Edward Lozzi and of the now-ended Night Of 100 Stars Oscar Party, pointed to on his Facebook profile moments ago (Unfortunately Ed did not activate the ability to embed his Facebook post here.)
“I was Zsa Zsa’s publicist back in 89-90 and her daughters friend and publicist (Francesca Gabor Hilton) for 25 years until her death in 2015. . I knew Zsa Zsa had an FBI file but now that it is released –the surprise was that she apparently wound up dancing with Hitler. Can you imagine the conversation they had while dancing? UPDATE: On Facebook, Rhobert Tachamet, a “Facebook friend” to Mr. Lozzi, posted this note: “Ed, I nursed an elderly lady from Hungary some years ago. She told me that zsa zsa and her family had social ties to that regime during the war years. The lady didn’t discuss it much but she said at the time it raised eyebrows.So your article caught my attention.Thanks for sharing.”
Indeed, according to Muckrock, which has the files (or some of them) stored , Zsa Zsa Gabor was far more than a nice Jewish girl; the Hungarian actress had by my count 12 different aliases: Mrs. Conrad Nicholson Hilton, Jojoeva Hilton, Gogoeve Hilton, Sari Hilton, Sari Gabor, Mrs. Burham Belge, Sari Gabor Belge, Sarah Tillerman, and Sari Gabor Hilton. She was married nince times.
Muckrock’s Beryl Lipton reports that “back in the days when the was still a rookie at divorce (her first being from Turkish politician Burhan Belge before marrying Conrad Hilton of hotel fame), the former Miss Hungary known as “Sari” became a source of suspicion for the Bureau because she did things like allegedly dance with Adolf Hitler (twice!) …”
As the FBI files go, Sari came to the United States from Hungray at 23 years old, quickly married hotel magnate Conrad Hilton, and took up residence at his home located at 10730 Bellagio Road in Bel-Air, California. (A six bath, 7,300 square foot home currently valued at over $18 million.) Prior to coming to America and marrying the man called “Connie” by John Hamm’s Don Draper character on the AMC TV Show “Mad Men”, Sari was married to a Turkish Prince named Burhan Asaf Belge.
A search for the name Burhan Asaf Belge reveals that he did indeed marry Sari AKA Zsa Zsa Gabor when she was 20 years old – and another account from one of Zsa Zsa’s two autobiographies claims she never slept with Belge but did get it on with Kemal Atatürk, the father of modern Turkey, behing Belge’s back. Morever, Belge is listed as a “close personal friend” of Hitler.
So, while Muckrock says that Sari denied dancing with Hitler, a little internet digging would have found information leading one to the notion that she very well may have. That said, for Ms. Gabor, nothing good would have come from admitting such an encounter with the mass murderer. Espcially, as she settled in Hollywood and got into acting.
