Drew Lock’s Pro Day Was Lackluster; Kyler Murray, Dwights Haskins Can Relax.
Missouri QB Drew Lock had what can only be described as a lackluster Pro Day outing. I don’t know what others saw, but if you apply the concept of the strike zone to football, then they’re giving Mr. Lock a zone larger than Kansas. With the kind of regular-sized strike zone I employed, Lock was off the mark and all over the place far more often than not.
On many occasions receivers had to sky for his high footballs, and if you count those as misses, his overall stats look that much worse. For someone like Charlie Casserly to say that some NFL teams had Drew Lock over Kyler Murray and Dwight Haskins is completely hilarious. Even my own mother knows Lock’s not a better passer than Kyler Murray and Dwight Haskins – the pair that are expected to go within the first 7 picks in the NFL Draft.
What Drew Lock does well is throw the deep pass and throw while moving. But he needs to shorten his throwing motion and work on his drop-back footwork.
Stay tuned.
