Allan Michaan, owner of The Grand Lake Theater in Oakland, sent over an email of a photo of his latest marquee message.
Over the years, Michaan has become famous for posting left-leaning political messages on the marquee. Today, was the latest. It reads “WALLS ARE CLOSING IN ON CRUEL RACIST TRUMP & THE TRUMP CRIME FAMILY! JAIL TO THE CHIEF!!”
The Grand Lake Theater is at 3200 Grand Avenue near Lake Merritt in Oakland, California. It’s one of the oldest movie theaters on the West Coast and should be placed on the National Historic Register, considering its storied history.
