The Grand Lake Theater, famous for the Grand Lake Theater Marquee, and located at 3200 Grand at Lake Park Avenue, was the focus of a fund-raiser on January 23, 2021. Here’s the news from that date:
Please Give to our GRAND Crew
Sadly, the historic Grand Lake Theater, for movies, has been closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, since March. We miss our customers, our movies & the camaraderie of our GRAND crew family.
While the theatre has the means to reopen, in all it’s glory, our staff is struggling during these unpredictable times. Especially now that we have missed the holiday season, which usually provides a plethora of hours to go around. Not to mention, the generous tips. Recently, most of our crew have run out of unemployment benefits.
We would like to assist them in getting through a little butter/easier. Some of them have families, or are college students who need a flexible job, or a second job to make ends meet. They are in desperate need of assistance with rent, bills, groceries and the necessities of life.
If you are able, please help our GRAND crew, who have helped you enjoy your movie experience. Any and all donations, from near & far, will be greatly appreciated.
– Asst Manager,
Tegan Ryan
Well, the money raised was just over $20,000, then – now, it topped the target of $29,000 – and a new bar of $35,000 was set. You can donate here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/GivetoGRANDcrew
Note from Zennie62Media’s Zennie62 YouTube and Oakland News Now Today Blog SF Bay Area: this video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media and presentation of coal transport in Oakland via Insight Terminal Solutions and Autumn Wind. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-created and owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
