Alameda, California Planning Board to Consider Final Architecture and Landscaping of Approved Harbor Bay Residence Inn Hotel at Harbor Bay Esplanade

Tuesday, May 28th, the Alameda Planning Board will consider the final architectural elevations, landscape plan, lighting plan, and parking plan for the approved 172-room hotel, restaurant, and coffee shop at the corner of Harbor Bay Parkway and Bay Edge Road.

Review the staff report on Harbor Bay Residence Inn, recommending approval of the design plans with changes reflecting feedback from the Planning Board and neighbors, including building setback, landscaping, lighting, parking, and more. This is the final step in the process of the approved hotel that will:

Share up to 100 parking spaces with ferry riders;
Generate $1M in tax revenue to the City of Alameda in its first year;
Bring quality union jobs, including 85 new permanent jobs and 250 construction jobs;
Use modular construction to cut down on waste, noise, and time to build;
Include a free-standing restaurant and coffee house, open to the public;
Create green space with a public plaza and bike-pedestrian access;
Include conference space for meetings or other private events;
Have 24/7 security, observe all quiet hours; and
Provide a shuttle to-from the Oakland Airport
