If Twitter Is Battling Fake News Why Is CEO Jack Dorsey It Allowing By President Trump, Says To CNN?
ONN – If Twitter Is Battling Fake News Why Is CEO Jack Dorsey It Allowing By President Trump, According To CNN?
On April of last year, 2019, it was reported that Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey met with President Donald Trump at The White House, ostensibly to complain that he lost something like 200,000 followers – out of the tens of millions he has.
It was also reported that Trump explained via Twitter that “They discussed Twitter’s commitment to protecting the health of the public conversation ahead of the 2020 US elections and efforts underway to respond to the opioid crisis.”
Right.
Prior to that meeting, many complained about Trump using Twitter to spread fake news. It has been so bad, Trumps tweeting in that way, that Entertainment Weekly complied a list of all of the “fake news” tweets he issued to the date of the post in 2017. And that was 2017, this is 2020.
There are two sides to Jack Dorsey here.
In April of this year, Dorsey said to Desus & Mero which airs on Showtime (and which Showtime’s parent company ViacomCBS has a content partnership deal), said “It’s less about free speech and it’s more about who should be the arbiter of truth,” continuing that “it’s not necessarily Twitter’s role to determine what is fake news and what is not.”
Ok.
But in 2018, Dorsey promised to deal with “fake news” as he was not happy with how “people have taken advantage of our service.
It seems to this blogger that Twitter and Dorsey play favorites – not dealing with “fake news” but serving certain friends of the company. This blogger is not one of them.
.
Stay tuned.
Note from Zennie62Media and Oakland News Now: this video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-created and owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
