John Singleton, Maker Of Boyz In The Hood, Oakland Black Filmmakers Hall Of Fame Inductee (BFHOF) died of complications due to a stroke today. He was 51 years old.
John Singleton gained fame for his script for the movie “Boyz In The Hood Director, and was the Oakland BFHOF Inductee in 1992. Singleton has 16 credits as a producer, including the new TV series “Snowfall” as well as “Black Snake Moan” and “Hustle and Flow”.
John Singleton also has a total of 36 filmmaking credits according to IMBD.
Singleton was the maker of one of this blogger’s personal favorite films, the reboot of “Shaft” with Samuel L. Jackson.
