ONN – Jon Gruden Dissed By NFL Network After Oakland Raiders Lose To Baltimore Ravens
The NFL Gameday Prime crew of Shannon Sharp, LaDanian Tomlinson, and Deion Sanders let fly their collective displeasure with the performance of the 2018 Oakland Raiders under Head Coach Jon Gruden. Sharpe said that it’s one thing to call out “Spider 2, Y-Banana” as an analysis, but on the field it’s a different story.” Sanders said that today’s NFL player is “not like the players of the 90s.” That formed the basis for the livestream talk Sunday.
This vlogger’s take is that while Coach Gruden and his Defensive Coordinator Paul Guenther prepared the Raiders Defense for Lamar Jackson, it doesn’t look as if they were ready for the varied array of run blocking schemes the Baltimore Ravens Offense threw at them.
The Ravens Offense used trap blocking, zone blocking, man blocking, pulling guard sweeps, and negative-influence pulls in their attack that amassed 242 yards. It was fun to watch as much as it served to wear-down the Raiders Defense.
It was also something the Ravens had not used all year long or until Lamar Jackson was named the starter. So, neither the Cincinnati Bengals or the Raiders had an answer for this new offense. The Ravens just might get to the NFL Playoffs with it.
Stay tuned.
