Jovanka Beckles for State Assembly District 15 announces new endorsements.
“I’m starting to blush, or maybe get a lump in my throat in gratitude,” says Jovanka Beckles, “because I’m so grateful for the ongoing stream of endorsements for my AD15 campaign.”
Her people-powered campaign continued to rack up endorsements from labor, scientific, and environmental groups over the past two weeks. Organizations directly engaged in standing up for California’s working people and our environment announced their support.
On August 27, Contra Costa County AFL-CIO Central Labor Council’s Executive Director Margaret Hanlon Gradie said,
Jovanka Beckles is the best choice for working families because of her track record of supporting protections for working families – making sure corporations don’t short our paychecks, fighting to expand access to quality healthcare, and ensuring housing for people at all income levels.
Our members spoke up load and clear. In Contra Costa County, we know who has been with us when it counts, and that’s Jovanka Beckles – so we are proud to stand with her in this race. Over the last two weeks, Beckles received the endorsements of the California Association of Professional Scientists (CAPS) and the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), local 21, representing Bay Area public sector professional and technical workers.
Oakland Block by Block Organizing Network, founded in 2010 to unite progressive community activists to create one progressive voice for Oakland announced its endorsement in early September, and on September 7, 350 Bay Area Action environmental action organization joined the Sierra Club and six other environmental organizations to endorse Jovanka.
The people, the scientists and technical workers, local organizers and environmentalists – Jovanka is the candidate of the people working on the ground in the interests of the working people and the planet!
