Karl Lagerfeld Dies In Paris – Chanel Fashion Designer Was 85

Karl Lagerfeld, the man who’s name evokes style as much as his clothing designs, died at the age of 85 years old, according to news posted moments ago.

Karl Lagerfeld, or Karl Otto Lagerfeld, was born September 10th, 1933 in Hamburg, Germany. Mr. Lagerfeld was known as the French luxury fashion house Chanel’s creative director, as well as holding similar titles at Fendi and his own brand under the name “Karl Lagerfeld”.

Karl Lagerfeld’s designs for women are best described as daring, challenging, sexy, and at times culturally dangerous. During the 1960s, he was known for taking the skirt up a bit too high – and perhaps giving many critics nose bleed at the same time.

To wear or have Lagerfeld’s designs is to come into a world that’s simple in colors, black and white, and yet complex in material and design. “Fashion is a game that has to be played seriously,” Lagerfeld once said. His works reflected that idea.

Lagerfeld was with all of the highest and best celebrities and stars, as my Mom just said.

She was a big fan.

Karl Lagerfeld, RIP.
