Las Vegas Allegiant Stadium Has Issues Even If Oakland Raiders Won’t Admit It
ONN – Las Vegas Allegiant Stadium Has Issues Even If Oakland Raiders Won’t Admit It
Allegiant Stadium, once known as Las Vegas Stadium, is inside what should be the final stretch run toward its much anticipated opening sometime in 2020. But exactly where Las Vegas Stadium is in its development is hard to know because the Las Vegas Stadium Authority is not in the common habit of making weekly updates to progress that the public can follow.
So, where Las Vegas Stadium is in its development, and the problems along the way, is the topic that was the focus of this Zennie62 on YouTube interactive livestream.
The latest Las Vegas Stadium news is the delay in the creation and raising of the roof ostensibly because there were materials taken from the property. That story has sense been modified to read that there was an attempt to take materials. But that masks the fact that great changes in weather, like wind gusts over 20 mph, can cause the raising of the roof to be delayed.
However, the main question is how can so little security be part of a $2 billion stadium project? For all of the dollar allocations, to now have to pay the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police to watch the stadium all day and night is purely embarrassing.
That leads to the other problem: money. The Oakland Raiders are still behind in securing a list of sponsors that would total over $1 billion. By this blogger’s estimate, the total take is at roughly $700 million at best. And while that may seem like a lot, consider that the Atlanta Falcons gained over $1 billion in sponsorships for it’s new stadium. And the Minnesota Vikings secured 10 “founding partner” sponsors for US Bank Stadium. In signing up Caesar’s Entertainment, Allegiant, Pittsburgh Paint, Cox, Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling, America First Credit Union, and Credit One Bank, the Raiders have secured six founding partner” sponsors of the total of nine sponsors to date.
(Note: The news that Reyes Coca-Cola Bottling is a founding partner sponsor runs counter to what this blogger was told by Edelman Public Relations, which represents the bottling company that Reyes was not a founding partner sponsor.)
And to add insult to injury, the Los Angeles Rams (repped by the same Legends Hospitality that’s working for the Raiders to sell sponsorships) have scored $1.5 billion on just two of the sponsors secured to date: So-Fi and American Airlines.
The Raiders are behind and as they get sponsors, they add that expected money to the total they need to finish the stadium.
Talk About The Oakland A’s Too
The livestream also featured a lively talk about the Oakland A’s quest for a new ballpark in Oakland and the political complications there.
More on that in a separate post.
Stay tuned.
Note from Oakland News Now Technical: this video-blog post shows the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
