Las Vegas Stadium Authority Raiders Stadium Completion Date Moved From October 2020 To December 2020

ONN – Las Vegas Stadium Authority Raiders Stadium Completion Date Moved From October To December 2020 Per LVSA Report

Buried in the latest publicly-available progress report on the former Oakland Raiders Las Vegas Stadium called Allegiant Stadium, is a sentence explaining that the so-called” close-out” date of October 31, 2020, is extended to December 2020.

The paragraph from the LVSA Staff Summary Progress Report for May 2020 (https://ift.tt/306irbs) , reads as follows “The project schedule was generally unchanged during the current reporting period. Substantial completion is anticipated on July 31,2020. Project closeout was extended from October 31, 2020,to November 31, 2020, in February and was unchanged in May. Respecting the uncertainty inherent to the COVID-19 crisis, the stadium’s opening event, Garth Brooks, remains scheduled for August 22, 2020. The opening preseason game between the Las Vegas Raidersand the Arizona Cardinals is scheduled for August 27, 2020,UNLV’s first home game is scheduled for August 29, 2020, and the first official NFL game between the Las Vegas Raiders and the New Orleans Saints is scheduled for September 21, 2020. We have noted that the project’s“tail,” or the work that will be required after substantial completion, has increased.Roughly $117.3millionin project costs are currently anticipated to be incurred after the project reaches substantial completion (i.e., between August 2020 and December 2020). This work now stands at 6.0 percent of the overall project budget.”

The last stadium report was issued in May 21, but it did not include a report that pointed to and specifically mentioned a December stadium construction end date. Thus, the stadium completion time that I pointed to July 19, 2019, of October 31, 2020 (https://ift.tt/2WfflAT), was not only the true date, July 31 of 2020, just “substantial” completion, it’s clear there is and was political pressure to have sports played in the stadium even as it was being worked on.

It is also clear there was political pressure to finish the stadium during the Coronavirus, and even as it was some clear workers were getting sick.

Stay tuned.

Note from Zennie62Media and Oakland News Now: this video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-created and owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
