ONN – LeBron James, Blacks Have Jewish Last Names, Thus Money, Too: Zennie Abraham
LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers did no one any favors when he posted a rather insulting set of lyrics from a the song “ASMR” by 21 Savage on Saturday, typing the lyrics “We been getting that Jewish money. Everything is Kosher” onto his public Instagram page with over 45 million followers.
It occurred to this vlogger that LeBron James’ minds eye pictured someone Jewish as white, and was completely ignorant of the fact that an African American can have a Jewish last name, and even be a practicing Jew.
Well, I’m not a practicing Jew, but I do have a Jewish last name, Abraham. So, if I pay someone to do a job, that’s, well, “Jewish money” same as anyone else.
Stupid? Yes. And that’s the point.
LeBron did no one any favors with that social media post. Interestingly, he said he thought it was “complementary”, but it wasn’t. It was a stereotype, and it was insulting to anyone black as well.
LeBron would do well to focus on helping to build black wealth, rather than spread racist ideas. He’s no better than any Klansman or skinhead with actions like that one.
