Louis Raphael: French Immigrant Finally Americanized In Oakland

Louis Raphael makes today’s news from Instagram on Oakland News Now after posting a photo of himself celebrating becoming an official American Citizen at the Paramount Theater, yesterday.

Mr. Raphael, who lives in San Francisco and looks a little like French President Marcon, wrote that he had lived in America legally as a French citizen since nine, but was never americanized because “life got in the way.” Now, obviously way past the age of nine, Louis finally went through the process to become naturalized. Why? So, he could vote in the 2020 Election.

On Instagram, he wrote:

Yesterday I completed a naturalization ceremony at the Paramount Theater in Oakland. As some of you may know I’m originally from France but have been living here in the US legally since the age of nine when my family first moved here. Getting my citizenship is something I should have done a long time ago, but for whatever reason, life got in the way. The journey took me a little over a year, but as of yesterday I’m officially an American citizen and I couldn’t be any prouder. I’m especially looking forward to next year so that I can vote in the election! L R

Congratulations on becoming an American citizen, Louis Raphael! You’re now as American as, well, french fries!

It must be noted that has Louis Raphael had the name ‘Louis Martinez’, his immigration status would be been scrutinized by some racist person who calls themselves “Murican”. But because he’s Louis Raphael, he’s allowed the freedom to frolic around the United States, allowing life to get in the way, then do the Americanization thing later in life.

Fair? Of course not!
