Maria Ayerdi Kaplan As TJPA Boss Got Northern California Carpenters Award In 2016

In 2016, Maria Ayerdi Kaplan was celebrated by the Northern California Carpenters Regional Council for her work as Transbay Joint Powers Authority (TJPA) Executive Director and in developing what is now called Salesforce Transit Center.

The NCCRC award was a plaque that read as follows:

To Maria Ayerdi Kaplan, Executive Director Transbay Joint Powers Authority

On behalf of the Northern California Carpenters Regional Council and our 40,000 members, I want to personally thank you for
consistently going above and beyond in all aspects of your position as Executive Director, for the Transbay Joint Powers Authority.

Where as, through your hard work, you have promoted the betterment of Carpenters and their families,

Where as, through your organizing and community skills you have brought consensus to the community and helped resolve problems
in a timely and effective manner,

Where as, during your time as Executive Director, you have ensured that workers of the surrounding communities had the opportunity to work on the Transbay Transit Center,

Where as, during your time as Executive Director, you have ensured that workers be afforded a living wage with benefits, and
an opportunity to participate in an apprenticeship,

Where as, during your time as Executive Director, you have ensured that veterans be afforded a chance at a living wage job and dignity in the workplace by embracing the Helmets to Hardhats program,

We therefore thank you for your partnership as well as your tireless leadership and perseverance over your tenure as Executive Director for the Transbay Joint Powers Authority and wish you the best in your future endeavor’s.

This is posted because, for some time, there’s been a concerted effort to blame Ms. Ayerdi-Kaplan for Transit Center cost-overruns that were due to market forces, and not her actions.
