NFL Network’s Senior Reporter and friend Mike Silver just gave Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey a load of free, valuable content that’s worth a blog post on his own platform. I’ve long wondered why the NFL doesn’t make its own version of Twitter, given how simple the base coding is. But, I digress.
Anyway, here’s what the multi-decade NFL Hall of Fame-bound sports writing legend reported about his conversation with Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rogers (which is also a talk between two Cal alums, as Silver and Rogers both graduated from UC Berkeley, and I earned my Master of City Planning Degree from Cal, too):
1) Mini THREAD: I talked to Aaron Rodgers on Friday, and he gave me some insight into his (and the Packers’) exceptional regular season. He also made it very clear that beating the Bears (and securing the NFC’s No. 1 seed) is a big deal…
2) Rodgers: “I really do think it’s important because there’s only one (bye) this year. It’s important because that means we’re going to host the divisional game in the elements, with a chance to win it and host an NFC Championship. So yeah, it’s important… ”
3) More Rodgers: “It’s a different animal coming to Green Bay in the winter time, especially what we showed last week against Tennessee playing in the elements. I think some guys would maybe shy away from the conversation or talk in clichés, but that’s not my way…”
4) Rodgers: “It is important and that’s why we’re going to go out there and try and win that thing this week.” I’ll share more about my conversation with Rodgers on GameDay Final, tonight on @nflnetwork
after the Washington-Eagles game, with @ChrisRose
The Packers at Bears Game pitting the 12-3 Green Bay team versus the 8-7 Chicago team is today at 4:25 PM EST on Fox.
The last time the Packers and Bears met, Green Bay clobbered Chicago 41 to 25.
Stay tuned.
