Natasha Middleton, Oakland City Council District 6 Candidate, Gets Union Endorsement

Natasha Middleton, who is a candidate for the Oakland City Council District 6 seat held by Councilmember Desley Brooks, sent over this announcement that she’s landed the endorsement of the Sheet Metal Workers’ Local Union 104. The Sheet Metal Workers’ Local Union 104 is located in San Ramon, California.

“Natasha Middleton is the best candidate to bring new, livable wage jobs and more opportunity to District 6 and all of Oakland,” said Rick Werner, President and Business Manager, Sheet Metal Workers’ Local Union No. 104. “Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 104 is proud to endorse Natasha for Oakland City Council, District 6.”

“What an honor to have earned this endorsement!” said Middleton. “Employment growth in District 6 has been flat while rents and housing prices have shot through the roof. That’s devastating for working people and I know Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 104 will be a strong partner as we work to bring more livable wage jobs and opportunity to our communities.”

Middleton is running to replace Councilmember Desley Brooks in the November 6 election. Her platform includes making neighborhoods safer, creating more jobs and opportunity and addressing the epidemic of homelessness in the district and all of Oakland.

“Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 104 is the first labor union to endorse our campaign,” said Middleton. “They’ve earned a special place in my heart.”

That’s good news for Natasha Middleton. Let’s see if she can gain any Oakland union endorsements as the campaign season advances.
