Mayock Says Derek Carr is “Franchise QB” For Oakland Raiders

Mayock said that Carr was the Raiders “franchise quaterback” but he didn’t expect the organization to ignore talent that could make a difference for them. Mayock also said that he expected second year players, most notably Arden Key, to make a difference this year.
On the matter of the “mesh” between coaching staff and scouting staff, Mayock said that over the last two months, he’s worked to make sure that both groups were “on the same page consistently.” That’s very important because the coaching staff has the playbook that the players Mayock brings in have to learn.
Dolphins Coach Brian Flores Kept Answers General
Asked about specific offensive players, Coach Flores was careful not to name specific names, keeping his answers very general, and non-threatening to any current player. On the matter of his coaching staff hires, Brian Flores did say that he worked to select people who didn’t have large egos and were “mentally tough” – qualities he wants in the players he coaches for the Miami Dolphins.
