Oakland A’s Dave Stewart Wants To Own Coliseum Land, But Blasts Councilmember Kaplan On Twitter

Talk about bitting the hand that feeds you, Dave Stewart and his wife Lonnie have taken to Twitter to blast Oakland At Large Councilmember Rebecca Kaplan because things aren’t going as they want.

They’re up against the African American Sports and Entertainment Group, when they should be partnered with them. From my understanding Dave refused – in my opinion that should result in his ouster. The African American Sports and Entertainment Group have more financial muscle than Dave does. That’s just fact. And that’s due for the most part to the presence of Loop Capital.

I can tell you this. I’m dealing with the city, and Rebecca Kaplan. If she was removed from the process things might run smoother in getting something done. For the A’s and me! They can’t tell you anything because the city has a say too!

Exactly what has @Kaplan4Oakland added to creative solutions? She has done nothing, provided nothing instrumental to the stadium process except to those that promise or contribute to her political gain…which is often contrary to what is best for residents/community.

As Oakland's Council President, working with the City team + @Kaplan4Oakland on the Howard Terminal project, I can tell you Kaplan is working hard on this, solving problems like how to fund critical transportation infrastructure with her extensive experience on transpo issues.

As you can see Dave and Lonnie drew the attention of none other than Oakland City Council President Nikki Fortunado Bas. And not in a good way.

Nikki came to Rebecca’s defense. That should mean Dave and Lonnie’s eventual ouster.
