Oakland Coliseum JPA Meeting On Raiders Lease Extension, Naming Rights

ONN – the Oakland Alameda County Coliseum Joint Powers Authority held its January meeting today and as this is written, the closed session portion of it is going on.

The public meeting portion focused on the “Executive Director’s Report”, which took some time to explain the findings of the Alameda County Grand Jury report on the use of tickets for events by public officials. There was no punitive action by the Grand Jury.

Scott McKibben, The Executive Director of The Oakland Coliseum JPA, did not mention the news of a proposed naming rights deal. The Raiders lease issue was taken up in closed session.

Now, it can be reported that there was no decision made in closed session. The Raiders are expected to review the new lease proposal and give a response in the next two or three weeks.

Knowing the Raiders it will be a month.

Stay tuned.
