The Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Joint Powers Authority voted (with Oakland District Seven Councilmember Larry Reid abstaining) to pass the Oakland Raiders Lease Extension for 2019-2020.
The Raiders now have one of the highest rents in the NFL: $6,975,000 for 2019 and increasing by $3 million to $9,975,000 in 2020, which is the option year.
One of the many news items that came out of today’s Coliseum JPA Meeting was the idea that the Raiders could play in the Coliseum through 2021 – the next three years.
Some Oakland Politicians like Oakland District Five Councilmember Noel Gallo, said that the Raiders are playing in Oakland for the next two year, and then he would prefer to see them leave. Councilmember Reid was upfront in his dislike for how the Raiders and The NFL treated the City of Oakland.

So, if the Las Vegas Stadium is not ready for NFL Season 2020, then the Oakland Raiders Coliseum Stadium Rent would go up to $9,975,000.00 – a $3 million increase. Overall, the Coliseum JPA would take in $5 million in profit spread over two years – the greatest year-to-year revenue take in the facility’s history.
Here’s the Zennie62Media livestream of the meeting, thanks to the legendary new Zennie62Media vlogger, Chuck Johnson:
The Coliseum Authority’s Executive Director Scott McKibben also reported that talks toward the expected RingCentral Naming Rights Agreement are progressing, and the deal is expected to come to a vote of the Coliseum JPA in April.
