Oakland News Now – Oakland Crime News: Theft Of Potted Plants Caught On Video

An Oakland resident posted two videos on a listserv that show a theft in action.

The action of stealing two potted plants happened at 2:30 AM, this Friday morning. The poster of the videos reports “We were victims of a theft last night around 2:30 AM. Someone came onto our front porch and stole both of our beautiful saga palms. I have attached the video of the perpetrator who boldly takes the first one, then comes back for the second one. It’s scary that people are casing our neighborhoods and coming onto our front porches. More than anything it’s maddening you can’t have anything nice outside if it’s not bolted to the ground and even that’s not a guarantee. Keep an eye out and be safe.”

The person in the video is white, male, and appeared to be wearing either Nike or Adidas shoes, blue jeans, a kind of military relief jacket, and an LA Dodgers hat, which should be enough to warrant an arrest in Oakland, in itself.

Stay tuned.
