Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf’s 2020 State Of The City Address: What I Want To Hear
ONN – Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf’s 2020 State Of The City Address: What I Want To Hear Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf’s 2020 State Of The City Address: What I Want To Hear.
The 50th Mayor of Oakland, Libby Schaaf, is set to give her 2020 State of the City Address, tonight. Oakland’s got a lot of problems that far extend beyond the good news. So, here’s what I want Mayor Libby Schaaf to tell me:
That she will make an Oakland for everyone: Oakland has developed into something I never thought I would see: a city for the well-off, and with a giant homeless population. Mayor Schaaf can stop that problem, but to do so she needs to..
Re-establish redevelopment tax increment financing in wide-use in the Oakland flatlands: that played a large role in the development of affordable housing until California Governor Jerry Brown killed the decades old program in 2011. So far, the City of Oakland has done nothing to bring redevelopment back – even though it helped Oakland, and would have curbed the growth of the homeless ranks.
That she will commit to develop an economy that consists of well-paying low-killed jobs in various industries. To do that, the Mayor of Oakland has to build a suite of approaches within this objective, but she needs to focus on the objective. She can start by supporting the Oakland Bulk and Oversized Terminal by my clients Insight Terminal Solutions and with Phil Tagami.
That the Mayor of Oakland commit to building a large convention center in Oakland, so we can capture some of the growing convention industry, worldwide.
Those are the basics. Let’s hear what Mayor Schaaf says.
Stay tuned.
Note from Oakland News Now Technical: this video-blog post shows the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. The main system is a major part of Zennie62Media’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. There, an uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-owned social media pages. This part allows rapid conversion of YouTube videos from any source channel (with permission and from Zennie62 on YouTube) to Oakland News Now blog posts. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
