his memorial on Saturday morning. That evening, the McClymonds Football team – which Ramone helped lead to two state championships – will host the CIF Northern California Division 2-A Championship.

Ramone passed away from bone cancer in November, just a year after he suffered a broken leg in his first year playing football for Laney College. The injury led doctors to discover the cancer. He passed away just days after getting out of the hospital.

Ramone’s team, the McClymonds Warriors, have won three straight state championships, and this year the CIF has again moved the team up in level of competition. They previously competed in Division 5 twice, and Division 4 once. Now, they have skipped over Division 3 to face the Division 2 Manteca High School Buffaloes. The winner goes to the State Championship. The entire city is invited to McClymonds High to cheer on the Warriors in their quest for a fourth straight title.

Media is welcome at Ramone’s memorial and the football game.
