Oakland Raiders And Coliseum, Las Vegas Stadium News Live For August 12 2019
ONN – Oakland Raiders And Coliseum, Las Vegas Stadium News Live For August 12 2019
This Zennie62 on YouTube Livestream Show covers the events that comprise what this vlogger calls four days that led to the death of sports in Oakland. Of course, the subject is the resignation of Oakland Alameda County Coliseum Joint Powers Authority Executive Director Scott McKibben.
Since the events of last Friday, August 8th, many have explained that it was Oakland City Attorney Barbara Parker who recommended that Scott step down amid her allegations that he violated California Fair Political Practices Commission (CFPPC) Conflict of Interest Laws. But a reading of the provision of the law that allows for the filing of an exemption causes this space to wonder why Parker didn’t work to protect McKibben?
The livestream discusses that, and gives a full history of how the Coliseum JPA was ran, and why Scott McKibben’s tenure presented the best financial position the organization has ever been in. Under the previous executive director, the Coliseum JPA ran constant, year-to-year deficits – that ended under McKibben.
The livestream also discusses the news that former Oakland City Manager and current Interim Richmond City Manager Henry Gardner will replace Scott. Henry is a well-decorated municipal executive, but he’s not a sports business oriented person. Not to say he can’t pick up the job, but the authority seems content to let Gardner fly without a net.
Welcome to Oakland’s unique taste for dysfunction.
Stay tuned.
Oakland News Now Note: this video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest version of an experimental Zennie62Media mobile media video-blogging system network. This is a major part of our new approach to the production of news media. The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and also seek interested content and media technology partners.
