PGA Championship TPC Harding Park Collin Morikawa First Major Victory San Francisco Lake Merced
23 year-old Collin Morikawa, a recent grad of UC Berkeley Haas School of Business is a 1st time winner in one of Golf’s major tournaments as he won the PGA Championship at TPC Harding Park over the weekend. Before stepping up to Hole 14, there was a 7-way tie at -10 and Morikawa hit the drive of his life. 291 yard par-4, drove it within 15 feet of the cup. He made the putt for an eagle and took a 2-shot lead heading down the stretch. Morikawa won by 2 shots over Dustin Johnson and Paul Casey and by 3 shots over a group of 5 who finished at -10. A great weekend in San Francisco and a great spotlight on TPC Harding Park as the PGA Championship goes to Collin Morikawa.
