Raiders Mark Davis: Read Bill Walsh “Building A Champion”, Take Professional, Focused, Approach With Team
After The Las Vegas Raiders drubbing, 48 to 9 to the hated Kansas City Chiefs, Raider Nation (which includes me) was in a collective state of shock about the game. There have been many calls and fingers pointing. Check out these tweets as examples:

Anybody got a way to make Mark Davis walk backwards out of Arrowhead. #Chiefs pic.twitter.com/YwHxUTyPRy

“If they go out there and embarrass themselves, everybody is on notice.” @CharlesWoodson had this to say about the Raiders this morning before they went on to lose to the Chiefs, 48-9. pic.twitter.com/ywXKCboIR9

Telling Mark Davis to sell the team is literally the biggest waste of breathe fans could have.

Well duh right? We’re on an interim coach right now. When Gruden left the season was pretty much over. Then the ruggs and arnette shit was the nail in the coffin. If Mark Davis keeps ANYONE on the staff or front office then its time to riot. But its a waste of breath right now.

You get the idea.
But the main problem is the sudden rush to exterminate anyone who has an executive title with the Silver and Black. For example, on Raider Nation Radio 920 AM’s Morning Tailgate with Clay Baker, Sports Illustrated’s Hondo Carpenter said “I don’t think anybody is safe anymore. I used to think that. I am not a person who is of that persuasion anymore.”
Carpenter continued “Every single Raider from Mike Mayock to the janitor now is competing for their job. All of it is on the table because I’m starting to hear some things and Mark Davis is going to bring in a strong coach. Somebody is going to have a lot of authority. Either a GM or a coach. I tend to think he wants to go the coach route because that’s what he did with Jon [Gruden]. I think that’s the route he wants to go.”
Panic, Throwing People Out, Is Not The Answer
The trouble is that everyone (it seems with the exception of me) has completely lost their minds and pushed the panic-button regarding the Las Vegas Raiders future. Everyone from Mike Mayock to the Raiders Scouting Department, to Derek Carr, to pretty much everyone except the Raiderettes has become fair game for being jettisoned. But folks, that’s not the answer.
The answer is to adopt a system, a professional approach, and take a dispassionate view of the situation, rather than the idea that the sky is falling.
The sky is not falling.
The Las Vegas Raiders lost a game that puts them at 6 wins and 7 losses. It’s possible, with some small changes, that the Raiders could win out the season, and go 10 to 7.
What small changes?
Well, start with the defense. The Raiders need to go look at the data and then determine a different way to play defense that, formost among all problems, results in more effectively rushing the passer. I think the Raiders need to study the defensive formations of the 1970s and 1980s, where the linebackers played closer to the line and the defensive line wasn’t spread all over the offensive formation, leaving gaping holes to run through.
This classic game features the Pittsburgh Steelers va The Dallas Cowboys, and two of the best defenses in NFL History. There are other examples, too.

But that’s one change. The point is, the Raiders need to focus. Pay attention to process and not people, collect data, adjust, and then proceed on a weekly basis. The Raiders need to have a business plan for the rest of the season and not just individual game plans.
In short, the Raiders need to focus on Building a Champion. Bill Walsh, the famed San Francisco 49ers and Stanford Head Coach, showed the way.
Stay tuned.

This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a YouTube channel. When the video is “liked” by Zennie62 YouTube, then it is automatically uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-created and owned social media pages. The overall objective here, on top of our is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours – is the use of the existing YouTube social graph on any subject in the World. Now, news is reported with a smartphone and also by promoting current content on YouTube: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary, or having a camera crew to shoot what is already on YouTube. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
