ONN – Bay Area Transparency Catches Rocklin Police In A Defensive Pose In 1st Amendment Audit Fail
This one does feature Bay Area Transparency at the Rocklin Police Department in the publicly-owned parking lot. He does the routine of looking like he’s making photos of the cars parked there, when it’s actually a trap of sorts for the officers to see how they react. Rocklin Police Department failed.
For me, the biggest fail was the black police officer, who made up his own home-spun logic for why Bay Area Transparency was wrong. As far as I am concerned, it should be against a law to have black police officers think they can be above the law, given how the law has been used against us. He should know better. And the young female police officer had a similar behavior.
The one action on Bay Area Transparency’s part I continue to hold unnecessary is the way he deliberately insults the officers. I don’t care what the reason is, and I know it’s a test, but words do matter and to push an officer to lose his or her temper, or try to do that, is just wrong.
That aspect of what Bay Area Transparency does must change. Just because one can do a thing, does not mean they should do a thing.
