Oakland News Now – Saied Karamooz 2018 Oakland Mayoral Race Update
Because Saied’s campaign has not listed his endorsements in a press release as they come (unlike the process that’s led to a “release war” between Jovanka Beckles and Buffy Wicks for the California Assembly District 15 Seat) one has to visit his website to see the latest news on who’s backed him.
Here’s Saied Karamooz’ endorsement list:
Pamela Drake, Political activist and elected member of Alameda County Democratic Central Committee
Mike Hutchinson, Oakland’s Public Education Network (OPEN)
Janet Arnold, Retired member of American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Local 3172
Dale Baum, Professor Emeritus of History, Texas A&M University
Eric Cavallari
Kyle Hudson, Lifetime Oakland resident
Greg Jan, Oakland native, researcher, political activist
Orlando Johnson, Community activist
Torger Johnson, Avionics Technician for United Airlines
Tina Kimmel, PhD, MSW, MPH, Retired Research Scientist, State of California
Michael Rubin, Retired state employee & SEIU local 1000 delegate to Alameda Labor Council
Chris Specker, Business owner, Temescal BID promotions committee member, & Edna Brewer PTSA member
Mary Vail, Member, Coalition for Police Accountability
Laura Wells, former steering committee member, Instant Runoff Voting for Oakland; Green Party candidate for US Congress – CA District 13
Gayle McLaughlin, former two-term mayor of Richmond, CA and recent candidate for CA Lt. Governor.
As an update, it does not include the endorsement of The Oakland Post, which released its decision earlier this week.
Mr. Karamooz website doesn’t focus on answering the pressing civic operations issues covered in the survey I sent to him last Sunday (and for the second time). This is his second “go” for the office of Mayor of Oakland. He should be able to push a button and have a ready answer by now.
Stay tuned.
