Rather, it’s @AOC and the regressive “progressives” that are devastating the Democratic Party’s midterm (and long-term) chances. Remember how successful Gene McCarthy and George McGovern were for Democrats! We need pragmatism–not tired leftism–to win Congress.
Deal making is not the province of progressive politics and is the mirror image of couch potato conservative ideology. Democrats once mastered kitchen table politics now we don’t seem to care about helping people put food on the table.
