ONN – SF Bay Area Bicycle’s Crazy Oakland Bike Ride Through Town Video: Stop Signs, Anyone?
By SF Bay Area Bicycle on YouTube, this is a wild ride done on March 26th, 14.75 mile, 250 ft gain, midday ‘circular commute’ ride during day 10 of the COVID-19 shelter-in-place for the SF Bay Area through “Oakland East, Downtown, West, Jack London Square, Jingletown, Fruitvale. Walnut St, Foothill Blvd, around Lake Merritt, 12th St into 10th St, Center St to the West Oakland BART station, 7th St, Mandela Pkvy, 3rd St, Oak St, Embarcadero West & Embarcadero to E 7th St to Fruitvale Ave, E 12th past the Fruitvale BART station, 42nd Ave, International Blvd to 55th Ave.”
And look at the ride, because the rider is nuts. He or she routinely runs through stop signs and traffic control like they don’t exist. What’s the rush? After a while, I was watching to see what accident the bike rider avoided. The whole deal was a crazy example of what not to do riding a bike in Oakland – or anywhere.
