Sheng Thao, candidate for Oakland City Council District 4, became the first candidate certified to qualify for the ballot for her race by the Alameda County Registar of Voters, this week.
Sheng Thao also continues to pick up critical endorsements as the campaign approaches Labor Day.
Last week, the Alameda Labor Council made Sheng their sole endorsed candidate for District 4 and this week the California Nurses Association (CNA), National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW), and Building Trades Council all endorsed Sheng as their #1 choice.
“The support and trust that I’ve received from the community has been overwhelming. As a daughter of refugees, working hard and serving the community is part of who I am – it’s my passion. As Councilmember for District 4, I will continue my work to bring results to the District and to Oakland.”
Sheng Thao also has the strong backing and early endorsements of Assemblymember Rob Bonta, Oakland Firefighters, SEIU 1021, Local 21, Oakland School Board President Aimee Eng; Oakland Councilmembers Kaplan and Gallo, Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggarty and more.
