Oakland News Now Presents:
Oakland A’s Dave Kaval Gets Powerful Culinary Union’s Backing For Las Vegas Ballpark
.
Score one for Oakland Athletics President Dave Kaval. After two years of negotiations, the Stanford grad managed to secure the backing and partnership of one of the most powerful unions active in Nevada: The Culinary Union’s Local 226 and its 60,000-person membership. The news signals that the A’s are in a much better position to land positive votes from Nevada Legislators when their proposal eventually comes up for a vote.
As you know, the Oakland A’s have been working on what the organization calls “parallel paths” to the objective of a new stadium home since March 27th 2021. That was the date Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred said that the A’s were going to start looking for a new ballpark home in Las Vegas, basically because Oakland was taking too much time to do too little in progress toward groundbreaking.
Now, with the Culinary Union’s backing, it’s clear the A’s, with the help of the lobbyists hired, wasted little time in getting to meetings with the right people and groups in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada.
What’s The Culinary Union’s Local 226
The Culinary Union’s Local 226 is an 87-year-old organization that acts as an organizing body for the people who work as hotel hospitality. It is Nevada’s, to let it’s website tell the story,…

The Culinary Union has a diverse membership which is 55% women and 45% immigrants. The demographics of Culinary Union members are approximately: 54% Latinx, 18% white, 15% Asian, 12% Black, and less than 1% Indigenous Peoples. Culinary Union members work as: Guest room attendants, cocktail and food servers, porters, bakers, bellmen, cooks, bartenders, laundry and kitchen workers.
The Culinary Union calls itself “an essential economic institution and a strong political force in the Battle Born State.” That, in a nutshell, spells legislative success in Nevada.

This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a YouTube channel. When the video is “liked” by Zennie62 YouTube, then it is automatically uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-created and owned social media pages. The overall objective here, on top of our is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours – is the use of the existing YouTube social graph on any subject in the World. Now, news is reported with a smartphone and also by promoting current content on YouTube: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary, or having a camera crew to shoot what is already on YouTube. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
