Recall Pamela Price Certification Accepted By Alameda County Board Of Supervisors, Meeting May 14th Brenda Grisham of Save Alameda for Everyone wrote this email and sent it 37 minutes ago: Your emails, calls to the Board of Supervisors and joining our Rallies were important steps to keep the pressure on the Board of Supervisors to: Accept the Recall Certification at the April 30, 2024 Meeting, and they Scheduled a meeting for May 14, 2024 to set a recall election date Getting a recall on the ballot is not easy and this one was no different. We could not have done this without the support of the community. What’s Next: 1. Recall Election Date: The Board of Supervisors set a meeting on May 14, 2024 at 3pm, to schedule a recall election date. They will either choose: (A) Special Election date in late August or Early September (B) Consolidate with the November 5, 2024 General Election. We will need your support on May 14, 2024 to ensure the Board of Supervisors sets a date. We’ll have updates in the coming weeks. We will need to raise more funds to run the recall campaign. We are already planning and will be kicking off the campaign as soon as the recall date is set. Please consider donating to the campaign here: Please click here to donate. Please go to RecallPamelaPrice.Org to sign up to volunteer. What happens after the Successful Recall Election: We are confident we will be successful at recalling Pamela Price. Pamela Price is immediately removed from office, a DA Deputy takes over until a new DA is appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The Board of Supervisors will evaluate and appoint a new DA that will serve for 2 years until December 2026. An election for a new DA will be held in November 2026 and they will hold office from January 2027 until December 2028. What about Pam Price’s “claims” of: An “undemocratic recall”: Pamela Price has a habit of making unsubstantiated accusations. Recall is the power of the voters to remove an elective officer and recalls are specifically permitted in the California Constitution: Art. II, Secs. 13-19; Elections Code § 11000 et seq. Read more: https://ift.tt/ioNgWQB An “illegal recall”: Pamela Price and her attorneys are claiming that unconstitutional portions of the County Charter should be followed. If the county followed the unconstitutional portions of the Charter, Pam’s attorneys would be arguing that the recall is unconstitutional. SAFE assures our supporters that we followed exactly the rules and directions that were provided to us by the County and Register of Voters. We had numerous conversations directly with the ROV to clarify directions, dates and procedures to ensure we complied with all aspects of the recall. “FPPC violations” claimed by Pamela Price: Any individual can submit allegations of violations to the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC), which then diligently evaluates and investigates each claim. Since its inception in August 2023, SAFE has proactively engaged the foremost treasurer and financial reporting organizations in California. Furthermore, SAFE has sought legal counsel from a distinguished election attorney in the state. Maintaining an impeccable reputation is paramount for any organization undertaking a public official recall, and SAFE proudly upholds this standard. SAFE looks forward to collaborating with the residents of Alameda County to successfully recall Pamela Price and bring safety back to our families.
