Chile comes to San Diego Comic Con 2018.
Tales of fantasy, crime and mystery; these are part of the proposal that Chile (yes, the country of Chile) will present between Thursday, July 19 and Sunday, July 22, at the San Diego Convention Center for San Diego Comic Con 2018. For the second consecutive year, Chile will be present as the only country in Latin America to exhibit at San Diego Comic Con 2018.
In 2016, Chile was invited by the University of Texas to be part of the “Latin American Comics Arts” series of lectures with the presentation: “Dialogues and perspectives from Chilean artists and critics”, which allowed a delegation of artists to show five representative titles of the Chilean comic industry and showcase the diverse artistic styles and traditions of this genre, which has more than 100 years of history in Chile.
In the 49th annual San Diego Comic Con by Comic Con International: San Diego, Chile will be represented by graphic humorist Alberto Montt, illustrator and comic artist Catalina Corvalán, the prominent cartoonist and graphic designer Germán Adriazola; and the editors Emiliano Navarrete and Oscar Salas of the editorials Biblioteca de Chilenia and Dogitia Publishing, respectively.
Via San Diego Comic Con, the Chilean graphic narrative seek to grow its presence in international markets and promote ongoing editorial projects that have in recent years have reached new global audiences, attracted especially by the diversity and quality of the productions that are being made throughout Chile.
Stay tuned.
