ONN – Tom Brady To Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Will Not Play Well In Bruce Arians Deep Passing System

Tom Brady is headed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, ostensibly for a $30 million / year deal. The kool-aid manufacturers are all saying Tampa Bay is now a playoff team. So, if you’re seeking a sane voice in all of this nutcasery, you’ve come to the right place. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not a playoff team with Tom Brady, they are, at best, an 8 and 8 team with Tom Brady.

The reason? Bucs Head Coach Bruce Arians.

Coach Arians is known for a deep-passing game that he sums up as “Risk it. No biscuit.” Bruce Arians does well at pattern design, but not at sync between quarterback drops, offensive line blocking, and receiver patterns. This goes a long way toward explaining why Jameis Winston was able to throw 30 touchdowns, but also 30 interceptions.

The Arians passing attack is of another time: a time when defensive pass rushers were slower, and defensive backs ran 4.6 forty-yard dashes. Today, the defensive backs are quite often the fastest players on the team, and in the NFL. And against Arians passing game, they very often sat down and waited for pass catchers to turn into their routes and dive in and pick off the throw.

The same fate meets Brady in the Arians Offense, plus one more: Tom Brady is not as mobile as Jameis Winston.

Jameis Winston, at 26 years old, is far faster than the 42-year-old Tom Brady. Moreover, Jameis Winston throws very well on the run. Two aspects of his play that were not well-used by the Bruce Arians-coached Buccaneers.

More on this, but my prediction: 7-9 and maybe 8-8 season.

Stay tuned.

Note from Zennie62Media and Oakland News Now: this video-blog post demonstrates the full and live operation of the latest updated version of an experimental Zennie62Media , Inc. mobile media video-blogging system network that was launched June 2018. This is a major part of Zennie62Media , Inc.’s new and innovative approach to the production of news media. What we call “The Third Wave of Media”. The uploaded video is from a vlogger with the Zennie62 on YouTube Partner Channel, then uploaded to and formatted automatically at the Oakland News Now site and Zennie62-created and owned social media pages. The overall objective is smartphone-enabled, real-time, on the scene reporting of news, interviews, observations, and happenings anywhere in the World and within seconds and not hours. Now, news is reported with a smartphone: no heavy and expensive cameras or even a laptop are necessary. The secondary objective is faster, and very inexpensive media content news production and distribution. We have found there is a disconnect between post length and time to product and revenue generated. With this, the problem is far less, though by no means solved. Zennie62Media is constantly working to improve the system network coding and seeks interested content and media technology partners.
