Traffic Control Lights At Grand And Bellevue Oakland Off Again

ONN – Traffic Control Lights At Grand And Bellevue Oakland Off Again in Adams Point / Lake Merritt.

The traffic control or “traffic calming” lights that were installed at Grand Avenue and Bellevue as part of the Oakland Department of Transportation’s work, are not on again. This after working for months. The lights in front of Perch Coffeehouse were a welcome addition after years of cars zooming through the neighborhood and in several cases hitting pedestrians. Hopefully OakDOT fixes this soon.

The last time this Oakland vlogger talked about the traffic lights was July 22, 2018. Then, I took note that the lights were finally operational, after some time of just sitting there not turned on:

And just down Grand Avenue toward Interstate 580, there was a nasty accident at Grand and El Embarcadero, and for the same set of reasons that gave rise to the traffic control lights, speeding cars:
