Warriors 119 – Trail-Blazers 117: NBA Finals Back In Oakland And Lake Chalet
ONN – Warriors 119 – Trail-Blazers 117: NBA Finals Back In Oakland And Lake Chalet
The NBA Finals return to Oakland for the fifth year in a row after The Warriors swept the Trail-Blazers 119 to 117, and that means the return of the parties and events at The Lake Chalet at 1520 Lakeside Drive along the shores of Lake Merritt.
This will mark the fifth year in a row that the Warriors have went to the NBA Finals, and so a tradition unique in the business of sports started which included the Warriors VIP Party at the great establishment.
It also marks the 5th year in a row that ESPN and FOX, or either one or the other, will return to Lake Chalet as well. That means the fifth year of 4 AM setups for the morning and afternoon talk shows featuring media stars like Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe.
It means the fifth year of long-lines of Warriors fans lining up to get in to the Lake Chalet. It means the fifth straight year of scenes of people enjoying the food and the fun at Lake Chalet and Lake Merritt.
Very cool!
Sports And The Warriors Have Been Good To Oakland’s Economy
This proves that sports and the success of teams like the Warriors have been good for Oakland’s Economy. While the Warriors have not commissioned a study, there are scores of examples of venues rented out in Oakland for special parties and events during the NBA Finals. And then there’s the amazing victory parade that has brought a million people to Downtown Oakland.
With all of this, Oakland should petition the NBA for an expansion team, ASAP. Anything to mitigate the impact of the departure of the Warriors after this year.
Stay tuned.
