WATCH: Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck By Houston Police Cruiser During Pursuit

HOUSTON, TEXAS – Houston Police Department released body camera footage of an incident where a pedestrian died after being struck by a Houston police cruiser during a pursuit of robbery suspects.
The incident began at 4:49 p.m., when a woman called police and said she had been robbed at gunpoint by several people who stole her Ford pickup truck and her purse. When officers spotted the truck, it did not stop, and a pursuit began at about 5:39 p.m.. One of the responding patrol vehicles with the light and siren activated lost control and went onto the sidewalk, striking a male pedestrian. The officers involved in the crash immediately told dispatchers that they had been in an accident and called for an ambulance. Within a minute, cardiopulmonary resuscitation had began on the man who was struck. However, he was pronounced dead at 5:51 p.m.
